AI shopping visibility
We check whether AI shopping assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini can reach and understand your product pages, then fill in the product data and information they are missing.
How AI picks products for shoppers
Shoppers no longer page through search results; they ask an assistant. What the AI cannot read, or reads only in part, never makes the comparison.
- The shopper asksFor example: "a power bank under €100 that I can take on a plane".
- The AI reads pagesIts search crawler reads product pages and structured data, and may open pages live.
- The AI comparesIt filters by price, specifications, rating, shipping and returns.
- The AI answersIt lists recommended products with links to buy.
What we check
23 weighted checks, scored in the free website test alongside the accessibility score.
Can AI crawlers get in
Whether robots.txt allows the ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude search crawlers, whether a firewall turns them away, and whether product data is in the page source without JavaScript.
Is the product data complete
Price, stock, brand, GTIN, rating, shipping and return policy in the structured data.
Does the page explain the product
Written description, specifications, image alt text, reviews and FAQ. A description that is one long image is invisible to an AI.
Does the store look trustworthy
Shipping, returns and contact pages, brand information and a sitemap.
Product pages of 7 Chinese brands' EU stores, checked in October 2026
- None of the 7 blocks AI search crawlers, and all have product data in the page source.
- None of the 7 includes shipping or return policy in its structured data.
- 4 have no rating or review count; 3 have no GTIN and 1 more has only a model number.
- AI shopping visibility scores ranged from 74 to 93. The gaps are in product data, which a product template change can fill.
What we fix
Changes are in the product template and store settings; the pages look essentially the same.
- Complete product structured data: GTIN, brand, rating and review count, shipping cost and delivery time, return policy, matching what the page shows.
- Let AI search crawlers in: review robots.txt and Cloudflare or other firewall settings, block only training crawlers, and allow search and user-initiated visits.
- Output product data from the server rather than injecting it with apps or scripts after the page loads.
- Add text to product pages: turn selling points and specs locked in images into text, and add a specification table and FAQ.
- Image alt text, shared with accessibility remediation and written once.
- A retest with a before-and-after report.

Frequently asked questions
How is this related to SEO?
They overlap: structured data, sitemaps and alt text help Google search too. The difference is that AI assistants lean on structured product information to compare, and products missing it may be left out.
If we let AI crawlers in, will our content be used for training?
Search crawlers and training crawlers are separate. OpenAI, for example, uses OAI-SearchBot for search and GPTBot for training; you can allow only the first.
How soon will we see results?
Each assistant recrawls on its own schedule, usually days to weeks. We do not promise rankings; we make sure AI can read complete and accurate product information.
Do you work with platforms other than Shopify?
Yes for testing and fix plans. On SHOPLINE, Shoplazza or custom sites your developers usually apply the plan and we retest.
